Overview
Powder coating is a type of coating that looks like paint but is applied as a dry powder. Powders are applied using a specialized electrostatic spray gun. After spraying the dry powder onto the items to be coated, the powder coated items are placed into an oven and heated to 350 – 400 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 15 - 30 minutes. At that temperature, the powder melts and flows onto the surface creating a uniform film. After baking/curing, the items are removed from the oven, cooled and are immediately ready for service.
Powder coated products are far more resistant to impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light and other extreme weather conditions than most liquid paints can offer. This reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, fading and other wear issues. In short, powder coating provides a superior, durable, rust preventative, chip resistant and long- lasting finish as compared to most liquid paints.
Our large commercially built, computer-controlled, curing oven is available for special purpose applications such as carbon fiber curing.
Today, composite fiber products are commonly found in use on sailboats, kayaks, bicycles, tripods, fishing rods, paintball equipment, archery equipment, tent poles, metal frames, stringed instrument bodies, drum shells, golf clubs, helmets, pool cues, cars and motorcycles, where its high strength-to-weight ratio and very good rigidity is of importance.
At present, all composite fiber work will be conducted with the user's assistance, to their specifications, on a per- project -basis.

Our Services
Powder coating presents a unique service for Guam, CNMI and Micronesia due to the highly corrosive nature of the local oceanic environment. While the replacement of low- priced furnishings and products with inexpensive imports (e.g., lawn furniture, etc.) is relatively common, items of value that are worth saving and/or maintaining are the primary candidates for powder coating. (Current common practice is to paint, and then periodically repaint for rust prevention. As evidenced, this practice is not very successful over the long term.)
PPC’s basic services include:
A properly prepared and powder coated item should achieve 5-10 years of excellent corrosion resistance between re-coatings (depending on whether indoors versus outdoors, wear, use, sunlight exposure, etc.).
Powder coating finishes are available in over 6,000 colors, textures and glosses. Powder coatings are used on hundreds of types of parts and products including:
As a part of the powder coating process, PPC also conducts hot water pressure washing, abrasive blasting and metal treatment services in order to prepare the items to be powder coated by first removing any soils, rust, corrosion and/or previously applied finishes (paint, powder coating, etc.).
PPC’s basic services include:
- Powder coating
- Media grit blasting (e.g., abrasive blasting using sand, garnet, glass bead, walnut shell, baking powder, etc.)
- Metal treatment
- Traditional wet spray painting on a select basis, and
- Utilizing PPC’s oven for specialized customer-controlled composite fiber curing
